Official registry for discovering RDAP servers for different TLDs
Verisign RDAP
Official WHOIS data for .com, .net, .edu, and .gov domains
Cloudflare DNS
DNS queries to check domain availability and resolve nameservers
Who-dat API
Backup WHOIS service for comprehensive domain coverage
Important Note
When you search for a domain, only that specific domain name is sent to these services to retrieve WHOIS information. No personal data, browsing history, or other sensitive information is transmitted.
How Data is Stored
All data collected by the WHOIS Lookup Tool is stored securely on your local device:
Chrome Storage API
We use Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API to store data locally on your device. This storage is:
- Encrypted and secured by Chrome's security framework
- Isolated from other extensions and websites
- Automatically removed when you uninstall the extension
- Not synchronized across devices unless you choose to enable Chrome sync
Temporary Caching
WHOIS query results are cached in memory for 5 minutes to improve performance and reduce unnecessary network requests. This cache is automatically cleared when you close your browser.
No Remote Storage
We do not store any of your data on remote servers, databases, or cloud services. Everything stays on your device under your control.
